Metalurgia 98 - An event born to the standard of the sector that it represents

 

In the first Metalurgia, from September 22 to September 26, in 1998, the International Trade Show of Technology for Foundry, Siderurgy, Forging and Services, already sent signals of being a very successful event with a great growth potential. Joinville, the largest industrial area in Santa Catarina, located in the center of Mercosur and the second largest industrial pole in Brazil, was the place chosen to hold the exhibition. 220 Brazilian companies took part in Metalurgia 98 which also had the participation of countries such as Japan, United States, Canada, Germany, Denmark, England, Italy, Argentina amongst others. The interaction with thousands of visitors generated business in the order of R$ 80 million in a period of 12 months after the event. During the Metalurgia 98 event about R$ 2 million was injected into the city’s economy.
 

The Expoville Pavilion welcomed more than 12 thousand people during the five days of the event - a qualified public, mainly consisting of professionals from the sector related to metallurgy from the main Brazilian industrial centers and from several countries, apart from the representatives of trade associations. Institutions such as Abifa - Associação Brasileira de Fundição (Brazilian Foundry Association) - that collaborated with the realization of the event that had the official support of other entities and trade associations in the sector.

Metalurgia is consolidated as the reference in the South of Brazil.

 

Joinville hosted the second, Metalurgia – International Trade Show of Technology for Foundry, Siderurgy, Forging and Services between September 12 and September 16, 2000. The event was held at Expoville promoted by Messe Brasil Feiras e Promoções and it had 220 exhibiting companies from Brazil and overseas and about 16 thousand visitors. The public from Santa Catarina and another 10 states, besides countries such as Argentina, Chile, United States, Spain, France, Denmark and South Africa were also present at the event and the two parallel events: Cintec Foundry 2000 - Congress of Technological Innovation and Sulmat 2000 - Mercosur Material Science Congress. The first was promoted by Sociesc - Santa Catarina Education Society and the second of Udesc - University of the State of Santa Catarina.

The Aluminum Sector joins Metalurgia in 2002

 

In 2002, Metallurgia maintained the tradition of presenting innovations to the participants and visitors. The trade fair, held between September 10 and September 14, had for the first time, companies from the aluminum sector. Betting on this new partner and also on the potential of the Foundry, Metallurgy, Forging and Services, Messe Brasil, the organizer of the event, increase by 30% the exhibition space in Joinville, that also increased the comfort of the 18 thousand visitors' that came to Expoville.

The new integrant of the trade fair, Aluminum, is of great importance to the other sectors involved in Metallurgia..
 

With R$ 75.00 millions in businesses , Metalurgia 2004 was consolidated as the largest event in the sector in the South of Brazil

 

The fourth Metalurgia - International Trade Show of Technology for Foundry, Siderurgy, Forging and Services held in Joinville - SC from September 14 to September 18, 2004 was responsible for generating R$150 million in business (business done in the period of one year after the fair). This record amount was a reflection of the effort and representativity of the event with the exhibitors and visitors. The value was 37% greater than in 2002, when R$110 million was generated. 19 thousand visitors' came to Expoville, from all over Brazil and countries such as Germany, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, United States, Mexico and Ireland, amongst others. The event also had three parallel events: Cintec 2004 Foundry, Sulmat and the 5th Business Round of Acij - Joinville Trade and Industrial association.
 

About 250 companies such as Tupy, Hunter, Schulz, Sinto Brasil, Refratek, Foseco, Saint Gobain, ABB, Ashland, Wetzel, Romi, were there representing all of Brazil and countries such as Germany, Argentina, United States, England. Italy was represented by highlighting 14 of the largest companies in the sector from that country, some of them with branches in Brazil. 

Metalurgia 2006 closed with the expectation of generating R$ 180 million within one year

 

More than 16 thousand people visited the Wittich Freitag Megacenter pavilion during the Metalurgia 2006 - International Trade Show of Technology for Foundry, Siderurgy, Forging, Aluminum and Services, that ended this Friday, 11, in Joinville (SC). The result was the generation of business to the vaalue of R$ 180 million, that should be consolidated in one year after the event. Metalurgia 2006 reunited about 300 companies from each sector of the productive chain of the foundry industry - among them exhibitors from countries such as England, Canada, USA and China.

The fair should generate 400 million of business in one year after the fair

   

Over 20 thousand people visited the booths of more than 400 companies exhibiting in the sixth edition of the Metalurgia - International Exhibition and Congress of Technology for Foundry, Steel, Forging, Aluminum and Services. There was a 20% increase from the previous edition, of visitors from other states. The exhibitors also received professionals from many countries, mainly from Latin America and especially from Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, Chile, Mexico and Italy.

 

The result is the generation of more than 400 million, which should be consolidated within a year after the event. According to data released by the president of Abifa, Devanir Brichesi during the fair, the sector should invest more than R$ 1.5 billion by 2012, increasing the installed capacity by around one million tons." Investments made by companies from all segments of the production chain of the foundry industry and the improving economy, are responsible for the movement generated in Metalurgia," says Luiz Roberto Lepeltier, Director of Messe Brasil, the event’s organizer
